PRECISION QUESTIONING
PQ was designed to help corporate leaders create and maintain the first-rate intellectual environments they need to compete successfully. The complexity of today’s business world, along with the rapid raise of scientific and technological innovation, demands a new emphasis from corporate leaders – intellectual leadership.

Intelligence is no longer a matter of storing information in the brain or having built a certain set of useful habits. Rather, intelligence is the ability to ask questions that get to the heart of the matter (PQ), and being capable of breaking old habits and building new ones (Self Coaching).

Organizations face intense pressure to think and learn at higher levels. Precision Questioning (PQ) is a one-question/one-answer discussion format used to help achieve a high level of critical thinking.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
. Anyone whose work involves complex problem solving
. People who want smarter meetings with less reporting and more critical thinking
. Managers who want to efficiently probe the thinking of the people who report to them
. Presenters who need to respond appropriately when an executive applies PQ

WHAT DO ATTENDEES LEARN?
How to use a set of conceptually precise questions and answers to:
. Organize thinking at a more profound level
. Get to the heart of an issue despite the increasing scale and scope of information available
. Understand unknowns sooner rather than later
. Preparation for project review meetings with management

APPROACH
PQ is conducted at DOOR premises or at the client’s site by DOOR certified trainers. Pre-work is assigned
and video is used extensively. Because exercises are based on the attendee’s daily work, each workshop
lesson can be applied the next day.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PQ?
. Higher quality decisions made in less time
. Solve highly complex problems
. Reduce risk by understanding key unknowns
. Make fewer mistakes in critical thinking
. Improved efficiency and effectiveness of meetings
. Cover more ground faster
. Spend more time thinking through situations, less time merely reporting on it
. Delve deeply into critical areas
. Deliver better presentations to management
. Enhanced credibility with colleagues
. Present finalized thinking
. Improve the clarity of thinking
. Articulate thoughts more precisely and concisely
. Spend more time on strategic issues, less on decision making

TRAINING OBJECTIVES
Following this training you will be able to:
. Quickly formulate precision questions to get to the heart of an issue
. Surface key unknowns, which then become action items
. Solve more complex problems
. Accelerate decision making
. Interact with executives who expect precise answers

DURATION
One day.
